Benefits for your child training in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)
1. Boosting Social Skills
Kids who don't always thrive in highly social environments may find it easier to
get to know people and make new friends when they are in a room filled with
peers who share a common interest. The kids on the playground may not
always have much common ground, but devotees to the martial arts are able to
get to know one another through shared pursuits. Partner-driven training
methods foster camaraderie, as they force kids to pair off and build their skills
     together.

2. Encouraging Physical Activity
The percentage of overweight children worldwide is growing at an alarming
rate. The problem of childhood obesity in South Africa is epidemic proportions
with an estimated 1 in 4 South African children being either overweight or
obese.  This is mainly due to poor diet and lack of exercise. Most kids are
spending less time exercising and more time in front of the TV, computer, video
games and cell phones. Our classes are fun and informative. When kids enjoy
an activity, they want to do more of it. We enforce a PRAISE - CORRECT -
PRAISE philosophy where each child's efforts are noticed and praised and if
      need be corrected.

3.  Increased Self Esteem
Confidence comes with achievement, so your child's self esteem level will get a
boost with every new move he/she masters and as their bodies get fitter and
      stronger.
THIS  IS  NOT  A  KARATE  CLASS
4. Instilling a Sense of Respect
Learning MMA will require your child to show his/her coaches unflinching
respect. Today's kid culture doesn't always include respect for authority, adults
or those in advanced positions. When your child comes to our Kids MMA classes
he/she will be learning lessons in respect along with new moves.

5.  Encouraging Non-Violent Conflict Resolution
Thinking that Martial Arts instruction promotes violent behavior is justified if
your only experience with the activity comes from television or movies. Our
training will emphasize the importance of avoiding physical altercation.

6.  Improving Listening Skills
In order to master the skills and advance with training, your child will have to
exercise superior listening skills and will be encouraged to do so.

7.  Developing Teamwork Skills
There are few things that your child will be doing on his own in class. Most of
the training he/she will be partnered up which will in return teach the
importance of teamwork, an important life lesson.

By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail
8. Improvements in Other Areas of Life
The benefits of MMA training doesn't end in the gym. The boost in confidence,
increased fitness level and new discipline skills will also help your child
navigate the academic and social aspects of school, affect their behavior at
home and have an all round good influence on them as they develop into an
      adult.

9.  Encourages a healthy lifestyle
MMA can also teach children to live a healthy, active lifestyle and will give them
the skills necessary to maintain that lifestyle. Getting into good eating and
exercising habits at a young age can greatly reduce your child's risk of obesity
      and diabetes.
It's not how good you are. It's how good you want to be!
10. Happier and Healthier
When kids are active, their bodies can do the things they want and need
them to do. Why? Because regular exercise provides strong muscles and
bones. Excellent method to control weight and therefore decreasing the risk
of developing type 2 diabetes. It will improve sleeping patterns and
encourage a better outlook on life. Healthy, physically active kids are more
likely to be academically motivated, alert and successful.

11. Its safer than Gymnastics
In gymnastics, children are often paralyzed from severe injuries sustained
while training in various floor exercises. In contrast, I have not heard of a
single child worldwide who has been paralyzed by training in martial arts (I'm
sure there may have been some, but I'm confident they are nowhere near as
frequent as serious injuries sustained in gymnastics). Sure, there have been
injuries to elbows, knees, wrists, ankles and shoulders. But these heal. Active
children will always suffer injuries from time to time, regardless of what sport
they play: Football, rugby, baseball, athletics even cricket. You want to keep
your child completely safe? Teach 'em ping pong, and hope they don't get
smacked in the eye by that little plastic ball. The health benefits of being
involved in sports greatly outweigh the risk of harm from injury. Mixed Martial
        Arts
is no more dangerous than many other sports, and is in fact less
        dangerous than gymnastics
The secret of getting ahead is getting started
12. Confidence Boost
MMA training is unlike other martial arts. First and foremost, training will
take place in an athletic and challenging environment. Training will be both
competitive and realistic. Students will be placed in close contact with
other students. Most of the time, they learn not to be afraid or intimidated by
physical contact. When coupled with MMA’s effective techniques, inner
confidence can be fostered—the kind of confidence a child would need to walk
        away from a bully.

13. Physical development and fitness
Starting sports at a young age is a great way to make physical fitness a
priority in a child’s life. Since MMA focuses on multiple disciplines, children will
receive a balanced physical education. A class might include tumbling, kicking,
takedowns, and grappling. Physical attributes such as coordination, balance,
speed, and agility will  be worked on in every class.

14. Personal Development
Classes will build on the core principles that the children are learning in school,
such as paying attention, speaking in turn, social skills, discipline, and respect
for yourself and those around you. Since MMA is a sport, children will learn
the value of hard work and the principles of sportsmanship. In addition, sports
are a great way for children to express themselves emotionally,
        independently, and creatively.
If you can dream it, you can do it!
15. All kids are treated as winners
From birth kids have the constant pressure of competitions and winning. In
our Kids MMA classes all our kids are praised and trained as winners. There is
no second place. The training teaches the student that it is not always about
winning or losing, but about their own progression and achieving personal
        goals.

16. Practical Self Defense
Our classes will expose your child to KickBoxing, Judo and wrestling/grappling.
Because of its real-world effectiveness and applications, the child is not only
learning positive aspects that come from training a martial art, but they are
learning a true form of realistic self-defense that will stick with them for the
        rest of their lives.
